ECF Newsletter September 2021
ECF subscriber newsletter September 2021 – Updates and the latest developments at the ECF project.
Dear Subscriber.
Welcome to ECF’s newsletter. This is the first edition of our newsletter in which we bring you up-to-date on developments at ECF and the team. The plan going forward is to drop you a new edition every month. Stay tuned!
We sometimes get the question where ECF is headed for the future and what we are working on in regards to our role and mission in the community and the roadmap going forward. Some also wonder if our grants program of yesterday is still functioning. So here are some clarifications and answers to some of the questions.
First of all, our web is up-to-date, and will stay up-to-date, regarding current affairs within the ECF community. The site is up-to-date on the former "grant operation" in terms of annual spend, total treasury and there's a link to the expense sheet regarding grants and operation costs transparently. While ECF is in building mode, grants are paused until the official launch of the platform for allocating resources in more efficient and transparent way.
The long term goals are made around the idea of the recent post on #takebacktheweb, and the ECF team is currently working on building an open platform that addresses coordination and funding issues efficiently. Upon launch of the platform in the near future, it will help not only ECF but also bolster many other open community projects.
If you’re a project looking for grants and funding, just sit tight, try other funding programs and keep in touch and up-to-date for when ECF is launched and projects are able call for support of the community on the platform. As always, the easiest way for now to keep up-to-date on ECF is to follow us on Twitter.
To accelerate the development of the coming platform the team is growing with new talents joining the team. I’m personally excited to take the opportunity to announce myself joining the team in the newly created position of Brand and Communications Lead.
I will try my best to contribute to the growth of ECF and the community by leveraging over ten years of experience as a tech journalist and content marketing specialist at IDG Sweden (International Data Group), as well as my background in tech. Needless to say I also have a devoted interest and passion for crypto, and I hope these traits will be a perfect match for the position as Brand and Communications Lead and I will be able to contribute greatly to the community.
And yeah, I’m from (Stockholm) Sweden – Hej Hej!! :)
Of course growing the team and our efforts doesn’t stop with me. We are in the process of hiring additional team members as you read this letter, and we’ll get back to you with further announcements of new team members as the positions are filled. That said though, there are still great opportunities for you, or someone you know, to come work for ECF. We will continue to grow the team going forward. In short: We’re hiring!
At the moment we’re looking for Senior Full Stack Dev Lead, Full Stack Developer(s), Digital Marketing Manager, UI/UX Designer and UI Developer. Check out our career page for more information and apply.
If you have any questions about ECF or want to get in touch with us, just drop a DM on Twitter, join our Discord or send us an email. If you wish you can also follow my personal twitter @larsdobos (Tweets are personal, and sometimes in Swedish).
Until next time – Take care and be happy!
Yours sincerely,
Laszlo Dobos
